& our dream
How it started...
Our story began with the desire for a place to live and work that was much quieter than the busy
Deurne (Antwerp, BE) where we lived at the time. We were looking for peace, rurality, authenticity
and nature, but couldn't find what we were looking for in our own country.
Only when we shiftedour search to the Auvergne did we get on the right track. We found our farm! We felt with all our hearts that this was the right choice. And we trusted that when you do something from the heart, it is and will always be right. The farm was renovated and we named this place ‘Shenmen’, after the acupuncture point that supports this trust from the heart.
About Rein
Soon I started teaching yoga classes for local people. Here, besides the yoga knowledge, I was able to put all my knowledge about accupuncture and mindfulness into it. The next logical step was to expand the chambres d'hôtes, gîte and table d'hôte.... We did everything with our full hearts, and from the desire to offer our guests a wonderful place of coming home. And this worked. We were rewarded with satisfied guests who returned year after year, and we also achieved a score of 9.8 on Booking.com.
